My EHT Story

I’m still amazed at how much better I feel, how much more energetic I am. Sleep is a time of brain healing and rest and I can surely tell a difference in my everyday life.

If you have ever suffered from insomnia, you know how debilitating it can be. It affects every area of your life. You are tired all of the time, anxious, grumpy, immunity is low, patience is thin, and you are consumed with thoughts of sleep.

Yet, when it’s time to go to sleep, either you can’t fall asleep or you can’t stay asleep. You count the hours all night knowing you must get up in the morning and adult! You get up and repeat…every day.

I repeated that cycle every night for over four years! Ask me how productive I was? Or how friendly, outgoing, or fun I was? Not very!

I searched and researched to try to find an answer. I tried every natural product that I could find that appeared safe. I tried a few OTC remedies. All to no avail! I…

The Power of Your Thoughts

Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Romans 8:6 “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Guard your heart, your thoughts and your mind! Why? Because whatever you dwell on becomes reality. If you dwell on sin, sooner or later, sin becomes reality. If you dwell on negative thoughts, sooner or later those negative things happen. Why? Because whatever you dwell on, you give power to! That is why the Bible says to meditate on the Word of God.

By meditating on God’s Word, you give the Word of God power in your life. By meditating and thinking on His Word, we begin to believe it! If we believe God means what He says, we can soon testify to the power of His Words. God is faithful to perform His Word! The Bible says He watches over it to perform it!

We have complete control over what we allow to remain in our thoughts. When we recognize negative words or thoughts that are contrary to the Word of God, we are responsible to take every thought captive. We must remove those thoughts and replace them with right thoughts; thoughts of life, truth, peace, and the power of God.

We must be diligent to guard our gates and what we allow to enter our being. We must walk away from those who speak death. We must turn off the TV program that puts fleshly thoughts in our mind. We must close the book that speaks against the sanctity of our marriage. We must guard our thoughts and our minds with such diligence and persistence that we are ever mindful of our surroundings and what is being said and heard and what our eyes take in.

Command Order Into Your Day

Have you spoken order into your day?

God asked Job a question “have you commanded the morning?”
We must, as Believers, command order into our day. Call forth that which we’ve been praying for. We are responsible to prepare for that which we’ve been praying and believing. You can’t pray for something and then sit idly by waiting on it to fall into your lap.
Just as an expectant mother prepares for her little one to be birthed, we must prepare for our answer to be birthed.
We must be ready for the blessings and the promises of God. Because if we haven’t prepared ourselves, we won’t be capable of handling that promise correctly and faithfully. We must be the person that can handle God’s promises or else we forfeit them to the enemy.
By commanding our morning, we set up the day to receive those things we’ve declared and believed for. We’ve set the place for God to work on our behalf. We’ve spoken the right structure into existence to house the promises of God!
Don’t be found unprepared for that which you’ve prayed and asked for. Due diligence is required on our part! Pray until you know you’ve been heard, then speak it until it comes to past, thank Him for it before you see it in the natural and prepare yourself for it in every way needed!
Just as you prepare a baby’s room; put diapers in the stacker, hang clothes in the closet, and have the crib ready – PREPARE FOR YOUR PROMISE!!

I refused to go the route of prescription sleep meds. I am a nurse and hear the stories on a daily basis of the side effects of sleep meds! No thank you!

“Believing God” **part four**

  • God is who He says he is.
  • God can do what He says He can do.
  • I am who God says I am.
  • I can do all things through Christ.
  • God’s Word is alive and active in me.

As Christians, one of our biggest priorities is to read and study God’s Word. How can we truly be a follower if we don’t know who we are following. Consistently reading, praying, and spending time with the Author of the Bible will acquaint you with your Saviour. We cannot presently and actively believe God if we aren’t presently and actively in His Word.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV), “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Psalm 119:105 (NKJV), “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” 


Psalm 119:11 (NKJV), “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!”

We must diligently be engaged in the Word of God so that our faith may grow, that we may have direction for our lives, and that we are able to be obedient and stand against the wiles of the enemy”. Ephesian 6:17 states that the Word of God is our sword. It is our offensive weapon against the enemy. You can’t effectively wield a weapon that you are unfamiliar with. We, also, will never abide in our promised land if God’s promises don’t abide in us.

Joshua 1:8 (NKJV),This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” 


Living according to the Word of God is the key to true success.

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV), “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Living, powerful, sharper,piercing, and discerner are all pretty impressive descriptive words for the Word of God. This Word when received by a believer is living and powerful and discerning. this living Word is what leads us down the right path. It is what grows our faith. It is what produces obedience. It is what us successful. This is an active Word.

The power of God’s Word becomes power in us. The activity of the Word become active in us. The effectiveness of the Word become effective in us.

Isaiah 55:11 (NIV), “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” 


God’s Word accomplishes what God sent it to do. It is an accomplishing Word. But we must read it, accept it, and receive it before it can accomplish great things in us. What do you expect from the Word as you read it? Are you expecting to be empowered, successful, active, and energized by the Word? We most often get exactly what we expect. If we are just reading to fulfill your daily checklist of religious duties then you will receive only the ability to check off your list. If you are reading for empowerment, faith, and the ability to be obedient to that Word then that will be the dividend you receive.

When you read and come across a promise in the Word of God that you desire, speak it out and claim it. As a believer and a child of God, you have the right to claim every promise in the Word. Pray those verses daily until you receive it.

2 Timothy 3:16 say all scripture is God breathed, so don’t just read it like any other book. Read it as God’s promises to you. If God is indeed, who He says He is and can do what He says He can do and I am who God says I am and can do all things through Christ as the Word says, then surely, those promises are for me – a child of God.

When we receive the Word of God, it is then empowered by the Holy Spirit living within us. Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. He is active and alive inside of us and will cause the power of the Word of God to be active in our life. All we must do is yield to the Holy Spirit as He does the work in us.

In my weak state, God’s Word is powerful. In my confused state, God’s Word is clarity. In my lost state, God’s Word is direction. In my dark state, God’s Word is light. In my diseased state, God’s Word is healing.

His Word is all I need to live powerfully and successfully in this world. I must read it, study it, accept it, and receive it; then I must speak it, claim it, and live it. God’s Word is surely alive and active in me!

Believing God **part three**

  • God is who He says he is.
  • God can do what He says He can do.
  • I am who God says I am.
  • I can do all things through Christ.
  • God’s Word is alive and active in me.

So what does God say about us?

1) God says we are His children!

1 John 3:1 (NKJV). “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. “

Ephesians 1:3-8 (NIV), “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his favor and will– 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.”

2) -God says we are:  1)Blessed, 2) Chosen, 3) Adopted, 4) Favored, 5) Redeemed, and 6) Forgiven.

If we can remember these six descriptions, we can can at least get a glimpse of our worth. Speak these words until they begin to take root. Speak them to yourselves – sometimes we have to remind ourselves of truth. We also need to speak them to the enemy when He comes to place doubt in your mind. The enemy knows that unless we believe we are who God says we are that we will live in constant defeat. He comes to steal, kill, and destroy!

If we believe God is who he says He is then we should have no problem believing that God can do what He says He can do. So why is it we have trouble believing that statement? Or maybe it’s that we don’t believe He is willing to do what he says He will do. Maybe it is easier to believe that God can than to believe that He will. But then again that goes against all that the first statement says. If God is who He said He is then He is most definitely willing to do what he says He will. That is the essence of being God. He is not a man that He can lie and he loves His children more than we can fathom. He desires to heal, provide, lead, guide, work miracles on our behalf, and dump blessings on His children. Those who believe Him! Our belief unties His hands to work in our lives where we allow. When we step back in complete faith and let go and ask God to work – He is faithful to do so.
