Acts 1:8 (8) “But you shall receive power when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you.”
Holy Spirit came to bring power to the church. Before Jesus ascended into Heaven He told the Disciples to tarry in Jerusalem and He would send the Promised One (Holy Spirit) who would give them power. The study of all aspects of God’s power reveals an all encompassing eternal power that is able to meet every conceivable need of mankind. The Holy Spirit fulfills God’s purpose to redeem mankind from sin and to make it possible to live victoriously while here on Earth. As we yield to the Holy Spirit, we discover that omnipotent power at work in our lives. All that is His, is available to His mature sons and daughters. We, who have been adopted as mature sons, have that power available to us. All that is His is available to us. When God took twelve men and empowered them with the Holy Spirit and sent them out into the world, they were able to turn the world upside down. With all of His power available to them, they were able to preach the Gospel and perform many miracles. When you look at the vast expanse of Christianity, you must realize that it started with Holy Spirit empowering twelve men to preach the Gospel to all the nations. That anointing is still flowing today. There is a direct connection between those twelve men and present day ministers who operate in the power of the Holy Spirit. So as we come into right relationship with Holy Spirit, that same power will equip us to do that which He has called us to do. To, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…”(Matthew 28:19-20). We can also turn our world upside down for the Kingdom of God. With all of the power of the Holy Spirit working within the Body, we can fulfill all of God’s promises.
