Psalm 20:4 says, “May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your purpose”.

If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that my one word for 2010 is PURPOSE.   Each week I am going to study a passage of scripture that talks about purpose.  Psalm 20:4 says “May He (God) grant you according to your heart’s desire…”  What should be my heart’s desire?  If I am a mature Christian my heart’s desire should reflect God’s heart’s desire.  Romans 8:14 says if I am a son of God, I am led by the Spirit of God.  The word son here is translated as mature son.  So as a mature [daughter], I am led by Holy Spirit.  I strive daily to be led by Holy Spirit and to obey His voice.

My heart’s desire is to fulfill my God-given purpose.  If my purpose is to teach the Word of God and to write Holy Spirit inspired books, God will grant my desire.  He placed that desire in my heart therefore if I proclaim it and move forward as He leads, it will take place.  I must purpose in my heart to be obedient and determined in my pursuit of “purpose”

No one but me can prevent me from fulfilling my purpose.  If God said it, I believe it and that settles it!

I pray that God grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your purpose.

What’s your one word for 2010?  How are you pursuing it?  Let me know!
