I just thought I would give you an update on where the book stands. I have done all I know to do at this time to market the book to bookstores. I have sent copies to many ministries and church bookstores. I have blogs, a website, twitter, facebook, and LinkedIn. I am social media’d out! So now, what?
Ephesians 6:13, 14 says “…and having done all to stand. Stand therefore…”
So, I “…stand fast in the Lord” (Phil 4:1). I know that after I’ve done all that is in my human power, God picks up. He is the finisher! He lets us stretch until we can’t stretch anymore and then when we realize we’ve done all we can do and turn it over to Him..He shows up and shows out! He is a faithful God! (1 Cor 1:9) 1 Cor 16:13 says to “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong”.
I’ve reached the place where I can “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.” (Ps 37:7) The patience part is my problem. I also have difficulty resting. I am a doer. I like to get things accomplished. I need to set things in motion. I’m an independent one who has to make herself be “dependent” on the One who can do all that we ask or think!
Ps 37:4 “Delight yourself also in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart”.
I believe Hebrews 4:11 speaks to someone like me. It says “Let us, therefore, be diligent to enter that rest.” God knows there are those who are accomplishers that have a hard time getting out of His way and entering rest. He has to tell us to be diligent to enter rest. We must put forth great effort to rest.
Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
I am mentally, physically, and emotionally tired right now. I feel like the life has been sucked out of me. My yoke is heavy but His is light because He carries the weight of it. All I have to do is walk beside Him. I have to remind myself of this often. I try to carry the load when all I have to do is allow Him to. He is waiting to carry it.
Thank God, His mercies are new every morning! (Lam 3:23) 1 Thess 5:24 “He who calls you is faithful”. Hebrews 10:23, “He who promised is faithful.”
Are you like me and need a reminder that we can’t do it all. We must find rest in knowing that He who promised is faithful. Have you done all that you know to do? If so, Now stand! Stand with the knowledge that you are victorious.
That scripture is a picture of one who has been victorious in battle standing with his foot on the enemies’ head, arm raised with sword in hand – victorious! That is how we are to stand! Knowing that we are the victor in this situation!
Exodus 14:13 “…stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace.”
So…listen up bookstores. It is no longer I, who is striving to get my book placed in your bookstore. It is now “the faithful One” who will accomplish His purposes for the book. Whether it is His will for the book (HSMMDI) to be in bookstores or not…I relinquish that to Him. I’ve done all I know to do at this time. I now wait on Him to open doors or to keep them closed.
His will…not mine! — His timing…not mine!
I have now entered a rest that has been a long time coming!
God…Do your thing!
